Characterization of Lab-on-Fiber-based dosimeters in ultra-high dose radiation fields / Vaiano, Patrizio (Sannio U.) ; Quero, Giuseppe (Sannio U.) ; Fienga, Francesco (Naples U. ; CERN) ; Di Meo, Valentina (INFN, Naples) ; Casolaro, Pierluigi (Bern U., LHEP) ; Campajola, Luigi (INFN, Naples) ; Breglio, Giovanni (Naples U. ; CERN) ; Crescitelli, Alessio (INFN, Naples) ; Esposito, Emanuela (INFN, Naples) ; Cutolo, Antonello (Naples U.) et al.
Next generation High Energy Physics (HEP) accelerators will require new devices and technologies capable of operating in extreme environments characterized by ultra-high radiation doses up to the MGy levels. To this aim, we report on an innovative Lab-On-Fiber (LOF) probe for the real-time dose monitoring. [...]

An Innovative Real-Time Dosimeter for Radiation Hardness Assurance Tests / Campajola, Luigi (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples) ; Casolaro, Pierluigi (INFN, Naples ; U. Bern, AEC) ; Gandolfo, Elisa Maria (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples) ; Campajola, Marcello (INFN, Naples) ; Buontempo, Salvatore (INFN, Naples ; CERN) ; Di Capua, Francesco (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples)
The study of the effects of the radiation dose on devices and materials is a topic of high interest in several fields, including radiobiology, space missions, microelectronics, and high energy physics. In this paper, a new method, based on radiochromic film dosimetry, is proposed for real-time dose assessment in radiation hardness assurance tests. [...]

The TopFlavor scheme in the context of $W'$ searches at LHC / Calabrese, Roberta (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples) ; De Iorio, Agostino (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples) ; Fiorillo, Damiano F.G. (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples) ; Iorio, Alberto Orso Maria (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples) ; Morisi, Stefano (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples) ; Miele, Gennaro (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples)
Many extensions of the Standard Model predict the existence of new charged or neutral gauge bosons, with a wide variety of phenomenological implications depending on the model adopted. The search for such particles is extensively carried through at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), and it is therefore of crucial importance to have for each proposed scenario quantitative predictions that can be matched to experiments. Latest results of the OPERA experiment on nu-tau appearance in the CNGS neutrino beam / OPERA Collaboration
OPERA is a long-baseline experiment designed to search for $\nu_{\mu}\to\nu_{\tau}$ oscillations in appearance mode. It was based at the INFN Gran Sasso laboratory (LNGS) and took data from 2008 to 2012 with the CNGS neutrino beam from CERN. [...]

Measurement of the cosmic ray muon flux seasonal variation with the OPERA detector / OPERA Collaboration
The OPERA experiment discovered muon neutrino into tau neutrino oscillations in appearance mode, detecting tau leptons by means of nuclear emulsion films. The apparatus was also endowed with electronic detectors with tracking capability, such as scintillator strips and resistive plate chambers. [...]

Innovative Photonic Sensors for Safety and Security, Part III: Environment, Agriculture and Soil Monitoring / Breglio, Giovanni (Naples U. ; CERN) ; Bernini, Romeo (CNR IRPI, Perugia) ; Berruti, Gaia Maria (Sannio U.) ; Bruno, Francesco Antonio (Sannio U.) ; Buontempo, Salvatore (CERN ; INFN, Naples) ; Campopiano, Stefania (Naples U.) ; Catalano, Ester (Rome U., Tor Vergata ; INFN, Naples) ; Consales, Marco (Sannio U.) ; Coscetta, Agnese (Rome U., Tor Vergata) ; Cutolo, Antonello (Naples U.) et al.
In order to complete this set of three companion papers, in this last, we focus our attention on environmental monitoring by taking advantage of photonic technologies. After reporting on some configurations useful for high precision agriculture, we explore the problems connected with soil water content measurement and landslide early warning. [...]

Final results on neutrino oscillation parameters from the OPERA experiment in the CNGS beam / OPERA Collaboration
The OPERA experiment has conclusively observed the appearance of tau neutrinos in the muon neutrino CNGS beam. Exploiting the OPERA detector capabilities, it was possible to isolate high purity samples of $\nu_{e}$, $\nu_{\mu}$ and $\nu_{\tau}$ charged current weak neutrino interactions, as well as neutral current weak interactions. Updated constraints on sterile neutrino mixing in the OPERA experiment using a new $\nu_e$ identification method / OPERA Collaboration
This paper describes a new $\nu_e$ identification method specifically designed to improve the low-energy ($< 30\,\mathrm{GeV}$) $\nu_e$ identification efficiency attained by enlarging the emulsion film scanning volume with the next generation emulsion readout system. A relative increase of 25-70% in the $\nu_e$ low-energy region is expected, leading to improvements in the OPERA sensitivity to neutrino oscillations in the framework of the 3 + 1 model. [...]
