/ Clement, E (GANIL) ; GöRgen, A (Oslo U.) ; Dijon, A (GANIL) ; de France, G (GANIL) ; Bastin, B (GANIL) ; Blazhev, A (Cologne U.) ; Bree, N (KU Leuven, Dept. Phys. Astron.) ; Butler, P (Liverpool U.) ; Delahaye, P (GANIL) ; Ekstrom, A (Lund U.) et al.
A rapid onset of quadrupole deformation is known to occur around the neutron number 60 in the neutron-rich Zr and Sr isotopes. This shape change has made the neutron-rich A = 100 region an active area of experimental and theoretical studies for many decades now. [...]

/ Clément, E (GANIL ; CERN) ; Zielińska, M (IRFU, Saclay ; Warsaw U., Heavy Ion Lab) ; Péru, S (CEA DAM) ; Goutte, H (IRFU, Saclay) ; Hilaire, S (CEA DAM) ; Görgen, A (Oslo U.) ; Korten, W (IRFU, Saclay) ; Doherty, D T (IRFU, Saclay ; York U., England) ; Bastin, B (GANIL) ; Bauer, C (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) et al.
The structure of neutron-rich $^{96,98}$Sr nuclei was investigated by low-energy safe Coulomb excitation of radioactive beams at the REX-ISOLDE facility, CERN, with the MINIBALL spectrometer. A rich set of transitional and diagonal E2 matrix elements, including those for non-yrast structures, has been extracted from the differential Coulomb-excitation cross sections. [...]

The neutron deficient $^{188–198}$Pb isotopes have been studied in a Coulomb excitation measurement employing the Miniball spectrometer and radioactive beams from REX-ISOLDE, CERN. These isotopes are of particular importance as they lie in a transitional region, where the intruding structures, associated with different deformed shapes, come down in energy close to the spherical ground state. Coulomb excitation of $^{29,30}$Na: Mapping the borders of the island of inversion
/ Seidlitz, M (Cologne U.) ; Reiter, P (Cologne U.) ; Altenkirch, R (Cologne U.) ; Bastin, B (KU Leuven, Dept. Phys. Astron.) ; Bauer, C (Darmstadt, Tech. Nuclear shell evolution in neutron-rich Na nuclei around N=20 was studied by determining reduced transition probabilities, i.e., B(E2) and B(M1) values, in order to map the border of the island of inversion. To this end Coulomb-excitation experiments, employing radioactive 29,30Na beams with a final beam energy of 2.85 MeV/nucleon, were performed at REX-ISOLDE, CERN. [...]

The neutron-deficient ${}^{\mathrm{196,198}}$Pb isotopes have been studied in Coulomb-excitation experiments employing the Miniball γ-ray spectrometer and radioactive ion beams from the REX-ISOLDE post-accelerator at CERN. The reduced transition probabilities of the first excited 2(+) states in (196)Pb and (198)Pb nuclei have been measured for the first time. [...]

The structure of low-spin states originating from shape-coexisting configurations in $^{68}_{40}$Ni$_{28}$ was directly probed via the two-neutron transfer reaction $^{66}$Ni$(t,p)^{68}$Ni in inverse kinematics using a radioactive ion beam on a radioactive target. The direct feeding to the first excited 0$^+$ state was measured for center-of-mass angles 4°–16° and amounts to an integral of 4.2(16)% relative to the ground state. [...]

Resonant laser ionization and spectroscopy are widely used techniques at radioactive ion
beam facilities to produce pure beams of exotic nuclei and measure the shape, size, spin and
electromagnetic multipole moments of these nuclei. However, in such measurements it is
difficult to combine a high efficiency with a high spectral resolution. [...]
