Can the differences in the determinations of $V_{ub}$ and $V_{cb}$ be explained by New Physics? / Crivellin, Andreas (CERN) ; Pokorski, Stefan (Warsaw U.)
The precise determination of the CKM elements $V_{cb}$ and $V_{ub}$ is crucial for any new physics analysis in the flavour sector. Their values can be determined from several tree-level decays: $V_{cb}$ can be extracted from $B\to D\ell\nu$ and $B\to D^*\ell\nu$ while $V_{ub}$ can be obtained from $B\to \pi\ell\nu$, $B\to \rho\ell\nu$ and $B\to\tau\nu$. Froissart Bound on Total Cross-section without Unknown Constants / Martin, André (CERN) ; Roy, S.M. (Tata Inst.)
We determine the scale of the logarithm in the Froissart bound on total cross-sections using absolute bounds on the D-wave below threshold for $\pi\pi$ scattering. E.g. [...]

B_{s,d} -> l+ l- in the Standard Model / Bobeth, Christoph (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Gorbahn, Martin (Liverpool U., Dept. Math. ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Hermann, Thomas (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP) ; Misiak, Mikolaj (Warsaw U. ; CERN) ; Stamou, Emmanuel (Munich, Tech. U. ; Weizmann Inst.) ; Steinhauser, Matthias (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP)
We combine our new results for the O(alpha_em) and O(alpha_s^2) corrections to B_{s,d} -> l^+ l^-, and present updated branching ratio predictions for these decays in the standard model. Inclusion of the new corrections removes major theoretical uncertainties of perturbative origin that have just begun to dominate over the parametric ones. [...]

Approach to equilibrium in weakly coupled nonabelian plasmas / Kurkela, Aleksi (CERN) ; Lu, Egang (McGill U.)
We follow the time evolution of nonabelian gauge bosons from far-from-equilibrium initial conditions to thermal equilibrium by numerically solving an effective kinetic equation that becomes accurate in the weak coupling limit. We consider initial conditions that are either highly overoccupied or underoccupied. [...]

SUSY naturalness without prejudice / Ghilencea, D.M. (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH)
Unlike the Standard Model (SM), supersymmetric models stabilize the electroweak (EW) scale $v$ at the quantum level and {\it predict} that $v$ is a function of the TeV-valued SUSY parameters ($\gamma_\alpha$) of the UV Lagrangian. We show that the (inverse of the) covariance matrix of the model in the basis of these parameters and the usual deviation $\delta\chi^2$ (from $\chi^2_{min}$ of a model) automatically encode information about the "traditional" EW fine-tuning measuring this stability, {\it provided that} the EW scale $v\sim m_Z$ is indeed regarded as a function $v=v(\gamma)$. CP violation and determination of the $bs$ "flat" unitarity triangle at FCCee / Aleksan, Roy (IRFU, Saclay) ; Oliver, L. (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Perez, Emmanuel (CERN)
We investigate the sensitivity with which two angles of the "flat" unitarity triangle, defined by $V_{ub}^* V_{us} + V_{cb}^* V_{cs} + V_{tb}^* V_{ts} =0$, can possibly be measured directly at FCCee. We show that the measured errors on the angle $\alpha_s = \arg(- V_{ub}^* V_{us} /V_{tb}^* V_{ts})$ and $\beta_s = \arg(-V_{tb}^* V_{ts} / V_{cb}^* V_{cs})$ should be better than $0.4^\circ$ and $0.035^\circ$, respectively. Catching sparks from well-forged neutralinos / Bramante, Joseph (Notre Dame U.) ; Delgado, Antonio (Notre Dame U. ; CERN) ; Elahi, Fatemeh (Notre Dame U.) ; Martin, Adam (Notre Dame U.) ; Ostdiek, Bryan (Notre Dame U.)
In this paper we present a new search technique for electroweakinos, the superpartners of electroweak gauge and Higgs bosons, based on final states with missing transverse energy, a photon, and a dilepton pair, $\ell^+\,\ell^- + \gamma + \displaystyle{\not} E_T$. Unlike traditional electroweakino searches, which perform best when $m_{\widetilde{\chi}^0_{2,3}} - m_{\widetilde{\chi}^0_1}, m_{\widetilde{\chi}^{\pm}} - m_{\widetilde{\chi}^0_1} > m_Z$, our search favors nearly degenerate spectra; degenerate electroweakinos typically have a larger branching ratio to photons, and the cut $m_{\ell\ell} \ll m_Z$ effectively removes on-shell Z boson backgrounds while retaining the signal. Infinitely many inequivalent field theories from one Lagrangian / Bender, Carl M. (Washington U., St. Louis ; King's Coll. London ; London, City U.) ; Hook, Daniel W. (Washington U., St. Louis ; Imperial Coll., London) ; Mavromatos, Nick E. (King's Coll. London ; CERN) ; Sarkar, Sarben (King's Coll. London)
Logarithmic time-like Liouville quantum field theory has a generalized PT invariance, where T is the time-reversal operator and P stands for an S-duality reflection of the Liouville field $\phi$. In Euclidean space the Lagrangian of such a theory, $L=\frac{1}{2}(\nabla\phi)^2-ig\phi\exp(ia\phi)$, is analyzed using the techniques of PT-symmetric quantum theory. [...]

The chiral phase transition in two-flavor QCD from imaginary chemical potential / Bonati, Claudio (INFN, Pisa ; Pisa U.) ; de Forcrand, Philippe (CERN ; Zurich, ETH) ; D'Elia, Massimo (INFN, Pisa ; Pisa U.) ; Philipsen, Owe (Frankfurt U.) ; Sanfilippo, Francesco (Southampton U.)
We investigate the order of the finite temperature chiral symmetry restoration transition for QCD with two massless fermions, by using a novel method, based on simulating imaginary values of the quark chemical potential $\mu=i\mu_i,\mu_i\in\mathbb{R}$. Our method exploits the fact that, for low enough quark mass $m$ and large enough chemical potential $\mu_i$, the chiral transition is decidedly first order, then turning into crossover at a critical mass $m_c(\mu)$. [Abridged] We consider extensions of the standard model based on open strings ending on D-branes. Assuming that the fundamental string mass scale M_s is in the TeV range and that the theory is weakly coupled, we discuss possible signals of string physics at the upcoming HL-LHC run (3000 fb^{-1}) with \sqrt{s} = 14 TeV, and at potential future pp colliders, HE-LHC and VLHC, operating at \sqrt{s} = 33 and 100 TeV, respectively.
