The Inner Triplet String Facility for HL-LHC: Design and Planning

In the framework of the HL-LHC project, full-scale integration and operational tests of the superconducting magnet chain, from the inner triplet quadrupoles up to the first separation/recombination dipole, are planned in conditions as similar as possible to the final set-up in the LHC tunnel. The IT String includes all of the required systems for operation at nominal conditions, such as vacuum, cryogenics, warm and cold powering equipment, and protection systems. [...]

Canted-cosine-theta (CCT) technology has been studied for its suitability for a future-circular-collider (FCC) main dipole in terms of magnetic and mechanical performance, electrothermal protectability, as well as efficiency. In this paper, we present lessons learnt from our search for efficient CCT solutions by means of two-dimensional (2-D) magnetic and mechanical simulations, discuss the 3-D periodic mechanical model, as well as 3-D electromagnetic analysis of the end regions. Design of 4 Tm Forward Dipoles for the FCC-hh Detector Magnet System

The 4 T, 10 m free bore twin Solenoid with 4 Tm forward dipoles is discussed with an emphasis on the forward dipoles. This assembly, a possible detector magnet layout for the future circular collider for hadron-hadron physics, combines a 4 T axial magnetic field at the interaction point in the center of the twin Solenoid with off-axis magnetic fields generated by the two forward dipoles for the purpose of providing bending power to all particles emanating from the interaction point.
