Final design of the cryostat for the high luminosity LHC magnets / Ramos, D (CERN) ; Vande Craen, A (CERN) ; Prin, H (CERN) ; Leclercq, Y (CERN) ; Williams, L (CERN) ; Struik, M (CERN) ; Barlow, G (CERN) ; Riu Martinez, O (CERN) ; Wong Luis, B (CERN) ; Parma, V (CERN) et al.
The high luminosity LHC project (HL-LHC) aims at increasing proton collisions by a factor of ten whilst extending physics exploitation until 2035. Its performance will rely on new focusing quadrupoles, beam separation dipoles and corrector magnets with large apertures to be installed on both sides of the ATLAS and CMS experiments. [...]

The design of the new LHC connection cryostats / Vande Craen, A (CERN) ; Barlow, G (CERN) ; Eymin, C (CERN) ; Moretti, M (CERN) ; Parma, V (CERN) ; Ramos, D (CERN)
In the frame of the High Luminosity upgrade of the LHC, improved collimation schemes are needed to cope with the superconducting magnet quench limitations due to the increasing beam intensities and particle debris produced in the collision points. Two new TCLD collimators have to be installed on either side of the ALICE experiment to intercept heavy-ion particle debris. [...]

Assembling experience of the first two HIE-ISOLDE cryomodules / Therasse, Mathieu (CERN) ; Barlow, Graeme (CERN) ; Bizzaglia, Sauro (CERN) ; Capatina, Ofelia (CERN) ; Chrul, Anna (CERN) ; Demarest, Paul (CERN) ; Dequaire, Julien (Intitek, Lyon, France) ; Deschamps, Jean-Baptiste (CERN) ; Gayde, Jean-Christophe (CERN) ; Gourragne, Max (CERN) et al.
The assembly of the first two cryomodules (CM1 and CM2) of the new superconducting linear accelerator HIE-ISOLDE (High Intensity and Energy ISOLDE), located downstream of the REX-ISOLDE normal conducting accelerator, started one year and half ago. After a delicate assembly phase in the cleanroom which lasted nine months, the first cryomodule was transported to the ISOLDE hall on 2 May 2015 and coupled to the existing REX-ISOLDE accelerator, increasing the energy of the radioactive ion beams from 2.8 to 4.3 MeV per nucleon. First HIE-ISOLDE cryo-module assembly at CERN / Therasse, Mathieu (CERN) ; Barlow, Graeme (CERN) ; Bizzaglia, Sauro (CERN) ; Bousquet, Jean-Alexandre (CERN) ; Chrul, Anna (CERN) ; Demarest, Paul (CERN) ; Dequaire, Julien (Unlisted, FR) ; Deschamps, Jean-Baptiste (CERN) ; Ferreira Somoza, Jose (CERN) ; Gayde, Jean-Christophe (CERN) et al.
The first phase of the HIE-ISOLDE project aims to increase the energy of the existing REX ISOLDE facilities from 3MeV/m to 5MeV/m. It involves the assembly of two superconducting cryo-modules based on quarter wave resonators made by niobium sputtered on copper. [...]

The Assembly Experience of the First Cryo-module for HIE-ISOLDE at CERN / Leclercq, Yann (CERN) ; Barlow, Graeme (CERN) ; Bousquet, Jean-Alexandre (CERN) ; Chrul, Anna (CERN) ; Demarest, Paul (CERN) ; Dequaire, Julien (Intitek, Lyon) ; Deschamps, Jean-Baptiste (CERN) ; Ferreira Somoza, Jose (CERN) ; Gayde, Jean-Christophe (CERN) ; Gourragne, Max (CERN) et al.
The HIE ISOLDE project aims at increasing the energy of the radioactive ion beams of the existing REX ISOLDE facility from the present 3 MeV/u up to 10 MeV/u for A/q to 4.5. The upgrade includes the installation of a superconducting linac in successive phases, for a final layout containing two low-β and four high-β cryo-modules. [...]
