Neutrino Detection without Neutrino Detectors: Discovering Collider Neutrinos at FASER with Electronic Signals Only / Arakawa, Jason (Delaware U. ; UC, Irvine) ; Feng, Jonathan L. (UC, Irvine) ; Ismail, Ahmed (Oklahoma State U.) ; Kling, Felix (DESY) ; Waterbury, Michael (Technion)
The detection of collider neutrinos will provide new insights about neutrino production, propagation, and interactions at TeV energies, the highest human-made energies ever observed. During Run 3 of the LHC, the FASER experiment is expected to detect roughly $10^4$ collider neutrinos using its emulsion-based neutrino detector FASER$\nu$. [...]

High energy collisions at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (LHC) produce a large number of particles along the beam collision axis, outside of the acceptance of existing LHC experiments. The proposed Forward Physics Facility (FPF), to be located several hundred meters from the ATLAS interaction point and shielded by concrete and rock, will host a suite of experiments to probe Standard Model (SM) processes and search for physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM) [...]

The Forward Physics Facility (FPF) is a proposal to create a cavern with the space and infrastructure to support a suite of far-forward experiments at the Large Hadron Collider during the High Luminosity era. Located along the beam collision axis and shielded from the interaction point by at least 100 m of concrete and rock, the FPF will house experiments that will detect particles outside the acceptance of all existing LHC experiments and will observe rare and exotic processes in an extremely low-background environment. First neutrino interaction candidates at the LHC / FASER Collaboration
FASERν at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is designed to directly detect collider neutrinos for the first time and study their cross sections at TeV energies, where no such measurements currently exist. In 2018, a pilot detector employing emulsion films was installed in the far-forward region of ATLAS, 480 m from the interaction point, and collected 12.2 fb−1 of proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. We report on the status of efforts to improve the reinterpretation of searches and measurements at the LHC in terms of models for new physics, in the context of the LHC Reinterpretation Forum. We detail current experimental offerings in direct searches for new particles, measurements, technical implementations and Open Data, and provide a set of recommendations for further improving the presentation of LHC results in order to better enable reinterpretation in the future. This is the third out of five chapters of the final report [1] of the Workshop on Physics at HL-LHC, and perspectives on HE-LHC [2]. It is devoted to the study of the potential, in the search for Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) physics, of the High Luminosity (HL) phase of the LHC, defined as $3$ ab$^{-1}$ of data taken at a centre-of-mass energy of 14 TeV, and of a possible future upgrade, the High Energy (HE) LHC, defined as $15$ ab$^{-1}$ of data at a centre-of-mass energy of 27 TeV. Anomalous $Z'$ and Diboson Resonances at the LHC / Ismail, Ahmed (Pittsburgh U.) ; Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys. ; Geneva U., CAP)
We propose novel collider searches which can significantly improve the LHC reach to new gauge bosons $Z'$ with mixed anomalies with the electroweak (EW) gauge group. Such a $Z'$ necessarily acquires a Chern-Simons coupling to the EW gauge bosons and these couplings can drive both exotic $Z$ decays into $Z'\gamma$ if the new gauge boson is sufficiently light, as well as $Z'$ decays into EW gauge bosons. While the exotic decay rate of the heavy $Z$ into $Z'\gamma$ is too small to be observed at the LHC, for a light $Z'$, we show the potential of a lepton jet search in association with a photon to probe the rare decay $Z \to Z' \gamma$..

On dark matter interactions with the Standard Model through an anomalous $Z′$ / Ismail, Ahmed (Pittsburgh U.) ; Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., CAP) ; Racco, Davide (Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U.)
We study electroweak scale Dark Matter (DM) whose interactions with baryonic matter are mediated by a heavy anomalous $Z'$. We emphasize that when the DM is a Majorana particle, its low-velocity annihilations are dominated by loop suppressed annihilations into the gauge bosons, rather than by p-wave or chirally suppressed annihilations into the SM fermions.
