/ Agarwala, J (Pavia U.) ; Alviggi, M G (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples) ; Antonelli, M (Frascati) ; Anulli, F (INFN, Rome ; Rome U.) ; Arcangeletti, C (Frascati) ; Auricchio, S (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples) ; Bagnaia, P (INFN, Rome ; Rome U.) ; Bariani, S (Pavia U.) ; Baroncelli, A (Rome III U. ; INFN, Rome3) ; Bashta, I (Rome III U. ; INFN, Rome3) et al.
Large-size Resistive Micromegas have been chosen for the upgrade of the forward muon spectrometer of the ATLAS experiment, the New Small Wheel project. These chambers, together with small-strip Thin Gap Chambers (sTGC), allow reconstruction of high-momentum muon tracks in a high-radiation environment and provide a robust low-threshold single-muon trigger. A full-size prototype of a Micromegas precision tracking chamber for the upgrade of the ATLAS detector at the LHC Collider has been built between October 2015 and April 2016. This paper describes in detail the procedures used in constructing the single modules of the chamber in various INFN laboratories and the final assembly at the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati (LNF). The beam and detector of the NA62 experiment at CERN
/ NA62 Collaboration
NA62 is a fixed-target experiment at the CERN SPS dedicated to measurements of rare kaon decays. Such measurements, like the branching fraction of the $K^{+} \rightarrow \pi^{+} \nu \bar\nu$ decay, have the potential to bring significant insights into new physics processes when comparison is made with precise theoretical predictions. [...]

(Naples U.) et al.
The design, construction and test of a charged particle detector made of scintillation counters read by Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPM) is described. The detector, which operates in vacuum and is used as a veto counter in the NA62 experiment at CERN, has a single channel time resolution of 1.14 ns, a spatial resolution of ~2.5 mm and an efficiency very close to 1 for penetrating charged particles..

The CHarged ANTIcounter for the NA62 Experiment at CERN

The NA62 experiment at CERN aims at the very challenging task of measuring with 10% relative error the Branching Ratio of the ultra-rare decay K + → π + v , which is expected to occur only in about 8 out of 10 11 kaon decays. This will be achieved by means of an intense hadron beam, an accurate kinematical reconstruction and a redundant veto system for identifying and suppressing all spurious events. [...]

The charged anticounter for the NA62 experiment at CERN
/ Ambrosino, F (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) ; Capussela, T (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) ; DI Filippo, D (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) ; Massarotti, P (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) ; Mirra, M (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) ; Napolitano, M (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) ; Roscilli, L (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) ; Saracino, G (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) ; Corradi, G (Frascati) ; Paglia, C (Frascati) et al.
The NA62 experiment at CERN aims at measuring the Branching-Ratio (BR) of the ultra-rare kaon decay K+ → π+ ν with 10% relative uncertainty, using an unseparated positive hadron beam of 75GeV/c, in order to test the Standard Model (SM) measuring the |Vtd| element of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) flavour mixing matrix and to possibly search for physics Beyond SM. Backgrounds, which are up to 1010 times higher than the signal, will be suppressed by an accurate measurement of the momentum and direction of the K+ and the π+ and by a complex system of veto detectors. The performance of the CMS muon detector in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV at the LHC
/ CMS Collaboration
The performance of all subsystems of the CMS muon detector has been studied by using a sample of proton--proton collision data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV collected at the LHC in 2010 that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of approximately 40 inverse picobarns. The measured distributions of the major operational parameters of the drift tube (DT), cathode strip chamber (CSC), and resistive plate chamber (RPC) systems met the design specifications. [...]
