Novel tools and observables for jet physics in heavy-ion collisions / Andrews, Harry Arthur (Birmingham U.) ; d'Enterria, David (CERN) ; Apolinario, Liliana (CMAF, Lisbon ; Lisbon, IST) ; Bertens, Redmer Alexander (Tennessee U.) ; Bierlich, Christian (Lund U. ; Bohr Inst.) ; Cacciari, Matteo (Diderot U., Paris ; Paris, LPTHE) ; Chen, Yi (CERN) ; Chien, Yang-Ting (MIT, Cambridge, CTP) ; Mendez, Leticia Cunqueiro (Oak Ridge ; Tennessee U.) ; Deak, Michal (Cracow, INP) et al.
Studies of fully-reconstructed jets in heavy-ion collisions aim at extracting thermodynamical and transport properties of hot and dense QCD matter. Recently, a plethora of new jet substructure observables have been theoretically and experimentally developed that provide novel precise insights on the modifications of the parton radiation pattern induced by a QCD medium. A 400A programmable linear current pulse generator / Gräwer, G (CERN) ; Cordobes Dominguez, F (CERN) ; Fowler, T (CERN) ; Voumard, N (CERN)
As part of the LHC Injector Upgrade (LIU) project, the production of a high-intensity proton beam in the Proton Synchrotron Booster (PSB) at CERN will be achieved by injecting a beam of H- ions from the new linear accelerator LINAC4. During the injection process the two electrons of the H- ions are removed with a stripping foil across which the machine orbit is shifted to fill the machine aperture with beam. [...]

Universality of multiparticle production in QCD at high energies / Dominguez, Fabio (Saclay, SPhT) ; Marquet, Cyrille (CERN ; Santiago de Compostela U. ; Santiago de Compostela U., IGFAE) ; Stasto, Anna M. (Penn State U. ; RIKEN BNL ; Cracow, INP) ; Xiao, Bo-Wen (Hua-Zhong Normal U. ; Penn State U.)
By studying the color structure of multi-particle production processes in p+A-type (dilute-dense) collisions, we find that higher-point functions beyond typical dipoles and quadrupoles, e.g., sextupoles, octupoles, etc., naturally appear in the cross sections, but are explicitly suppressed in the large-N_c limit. We evaluate the sextupole in the McLerran-Venugopalan model and find that, in general, its analytical form cannot be written as combination of dipoles and quadrupoles. [...]

Universality of Unintegrated Gluon Distributions at small x / Dominguez, Fabio (Columbia U.) ; Marquet, Cyrille (CERN) ; Xiao, Bo-Wen (Penn State U. ; LBNL, NSD) ; Yuan, Feng (LBNL, NSD ; RIKEN BNL)
We systematically study dijet production in various processes in the small-x limit and establish an effective kt-factorization for hard processes in a system with dilute probes scattering on a dense target. In the large-Nc limit, the unintegrated gluon distributions involved in different processes are shown to be related to two widely proposed ones: the Weizsacker-Williams gluon distribution and the dipole gluon distribution..
