000926350 520__ $$aNew heavy gauge bosons belonging to an extended (in comparison with the Standard Model) gauge sector are present in the Grand Unified Theories as well as in some models invoked to solve the hierarchy problem, in particular the technicolour model and some variants of multidimensional quantum field theories (e g., "Little Higgs" model). In this article we carry out an analysis of LHC potential to search for neutral gauge bosons in dimuon mode decay.
