Abstract The ATLAS detector has been used to search for high-mass states decaying into a single high momentum lepton and missing energy, such as new heavy charged gauge bosons. Based on proton-proton collisions at a center of mass energy of 7 TeV produced at the Large Hadron Collider, the latest search results for a W' decaying to lepton plus neutrino are presented.
