Perhaps best known for playing Superman in the DCU, David Packard Corenswet is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His parents, Caroline Packard and John Corenswet, were lawyers, and his father also worked as a stage actor in New York for many years. His grandfather, Edward Packard, is an author and the creator of the Choose Your Own Adventure book series. His father was from a Jewish family long-settled in New Orleans, Louisiana, and his mother was from a Quaker household. David graduated from the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, before attending the University of Pennsylvania for a year, and then transferring to the Juilliard School in New York; there, he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drama in 2016.

He started acting at an early age, and he appeared in numerous theater plays, such as Arden Theatre's 2002 production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons, the Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival's 2003 production of Macbeth, the Walnut Street Theatre's 2003 production of La Vie En Bleu, and the People's Light and Theatre Company's 2004 production of The Forgiving Harvest, among others. David wrote the screenplay for Following Chase (2011) and starred in the said short film directed by Greg Koorhan. After that he co-wrote and co-produced a web series called Moe & Jerryweather (2014) with his friend at Julliard, Adam Langdon, from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, Rob Reiner cast Corenswet as a co-lead in his planned TV show, The Tap (2017), alongside Jack Quaid, and others, which was set at Yale College in 1969. David played a student in the pilot episode, but the show was never ordered by USA Network.

As his first film leading role after graduating from Julliard, he starred as Michael Lawson in Eric Bross's Affairs of State (2018). Corenswet then appeared in several guest roles in shows such as House of Cards (2013), Elementary (2012), and Instinct (2018). In 2019, he portrayed River Barkley in Ryan Murphy's The Politician (2019), and in 2020 he starred in Ryan Murphy's Hollywood (2020) in the lead role of Jack Castello. In 2022 he co-starred on HBO's We Own This City (2022) as the veteran police investigator David McDougall. Also in 2022, Corenswet co-starred as Jake in Netflix's Look Both Ways (2022), and then as The Projectionist in Ti West's Pearl (2022). In 2024, he co-starred in The Greatest Hits (2024) for Searchlight Pictures. Corenswet appeared in Twisters (2024) as Scott alongside Glen Powell , and then had a recurring role in the Apple TV+ series Lady in the Lake (2024), alongside Natalie Portman and Noah Jupe.

On June 27, 2023, it was announced that David had been cast as the next Superman, in a film written and directed by James Gunn and produced by Peter Safran alongside Rachel Brosnahan. Superman (2025) marked the start of the new cinematic DC universe by the names of DCU under the leadership of Gunn and Safran at DC Studios. The movie started shooting on February 29, 2024, and concluded filming on July 30, 2024. Superman (2025) was released theatrically in the United States on July 11, 2025.

Rachel Brosnahan was born in in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1990 and is an American actress. She is best known for her role as 'Midge' Maisel in the Amazon Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017) for which she has won two Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy (2019, 2018), one Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (2018), and one Critics' Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series (2018).

She is also known for her previous roles in the film Beautiful Creatures (2013) as Genevieve Duchannes, in the Netflix original series House of Cards (2013) as Rachel Posner, and in the TV series Manhattan (2014) as Abby Isaacs.

Rachel is the daughter of Carol (Best) and Earl Brosnahan, who worked in children's publishing. Her mother is English. Her father is an American, of mostly Irish descent. From the age of four, she was raised in Highland Park, Illinois. She has a younger brother and sister. Rachel is the niece of the late handbag designer Kate Spade, who was her father's sister.

Nicholas Hoult was born on December 7, 1989 in Wokingham, Berkshire, England, UK as Nicholas Caradoc Hoult. His parents are Glenis Hoult, a piano teacher and Roger Hoult, a pilot. He has three siblings, two sisters and one brother. His great-aunt was one of the most popular actresses of her time, Dame Anna Neagle. James Gunn was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, to Leota and James Francis Gunn. He is from a large Catholic family, with Irish and Czech ancestry. His father and his uncles were all lawyers. He has been writing and performing as long as he can remember. He began making 8mm films at the age of twelve. Many of these were comedic splatter films featuring his brothers being disemboweled by zombies. He attended Saint Louis University High (SLUH) college preparatory school but later dropped out of college to pursue a rock and roll career.

His band, "the Icons", released one album, "Mom, We Like It Here on Earth". He earned very little money doing this and so during this time, he also worked as an orderly in Tucson, Arizona, upon which many of the situations in his first novel, "The Toy Collector", are based. He wrote and drew comic strips for underground and college newspapers.

Gunn eventually returned to school and received his B.A. at Saint Louis University in his native St. Louis. He moved to New York where he received an MFA in creative writing from Columbia University, which he today thinks may have been a wonderfully expensive waste of time. While finishing his MFA, he started writing "The Toy Collector" and began working for "Troma Studios", America's leading B-Movie production company. While there he wrote and produced the cult classic Tromeo and Juliet (1996) and, with Lloyd Kaufman, he wrote "All I Need to Know about Filmmaking I Learned from the Toxic Avenger".

Gunn had a spiritual awakening in Cannes in 1997 and quit Troma and relocated from New York to Los Angeles. He wrote and acted in the film The Specials (2000) with Rob Lowe, Jamie Kennedy, Thomas J. Churchill and his brother Sean Gunn. He wrote two scripts for Warner Brothers live action movies: Spy vs. Spy (1985) and Scooby-Doo (2002). In 1999, after almost five years, he finished "The Toy Collector". After doing Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004), Gunn made his directorial debut with Slither (2006). He later made the superhero film Super (2010) and the successful Marvel films Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and its sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

Gunn has four brothers, all of whom are in the entertainment industry. His brother, Patrick Gunn, is a Senior VP at Artisan Entertainment, the company responsible for distributing (and the marketing campaign of) The Blair Witch Project (1999). His brother, Brian Gunn, is a screenwriter who works in partnership with their cousin Mark Gunn.

Gunn's brother, Matt Gunn wrote and starred in the winner of the 1997 Sundance Film Festival, Man About Town (1997). Eric Bana was born Eric Martin Andrew Banadinovic on August 9, 1968, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is the younger of two brothers. For the role, Bana gained 30 pounds, by eating junk food; he also spent a few days with Read in prison, in order to perfect his mimicry. Bana completely transformed himself into a bald, plump, disturbed criminal. He would arrive on the film set at four in the morning, spending several hours in makeup, being tattooed exactly like Read. Chopper (2000) became an international success and won three Australian Film Institute Awards. Bana won the Best Actor at the 2000 Stockholm Film Festival and also the AFI 2000 Best Actor Award. In 1995, he began dating Rebecca Gleeson, a publicist and daughter of The Honourable Murray Gleeson, the 11th Chief Justice of Australia. The following year, he was named "Bachelor of the Year" by Cleo magazine, and won a trip for two to the United States. He invited Gleeson, and proposed to her during that romantic trip. In 1997, the two were married; their son, Klaus, was born in 1999, their daughter, Sophia, was born in 2002. He currently resides in Melbourne with his wife and their two children. Bana is a passionate supporter of Australian football. He was appointed Member of the Order of Australia (AM) at the 2019 Queen's Birthday Honours for his services to the performing arts, and to charitable organisations.

Milly Alcock is an Australian actress who catapulted to global fame after starring as young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season of the HBO television series House of the Dragon (2022), a prequel to HBO's Game of Thrones (2011). Nathan Fillion was born on 27 March 1971 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He is the son of Cookie (Early) and Bob Fillion, both retired English teachers, and has an older brother, Jeff. His father is of French-Canadian descent, and his mother is of English, German, Finnish, and Norwegian ancestry. In Canada, he attended Holy Trinity Catholic High School, Concordia University College of Alberta and University of Alberta. In 2009, he was cast as the title character Richard Castle in ABC's hit television series, Castle (2009). The show has aired more than 160 episodes and Nathan Fillion has won four People's Choice Awards for Favorite Dramatic TV Actor, as of 2016. In 2018, Fillion took the starring role in The Rookie (2018) as John Nolan, a contractor who starts over as a rookie police officer in the LAPD after a life-altering event. Benjamin is a British actor born September 25, 2008, who currently is shooting various film, TV and voice projects. William Bradley "Brad" Pitt was born on December 18, 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma and raised in Springfield, Missouri to Jane Etta Pitt (née Hillhouse), a school counselor & William Alvin "Bill" Pitt, a truck company manager. At Kickapoo High School, Pitt was involved in sports, debating, student government and school musicals. Pitt attended the University of Missouri, where he majored in journalism with a focus on advertising. He occasionally acted in fraternity shows. He left college two credits short of graduating to move to California. Before he became successful at acting, Pitt supported himself by driving strippers in limos, moving refrigerators and dressing as a giant chicken while working for El Pollo Loco.

Alan Tudyk was born in El Paso, Texas, but grew up in Plano, where he attended Plano Sr. High. In 1990, he went on to study drama at Lon Morris Jr. College. While there, he was awarded the Academic Excellence Award for Drama. He was also named Most Likely to Succeed and Sophomore Beau. During this time, Alan was also an active member of the Delta Psi Omega fraternity.

After leaving LMJC, Alan went on to study at the prestigious Juilliard conservatory but left in 1996 before earning a degree.

Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill was born on the Bailiwick of Jersey, a British Crown dependency in the Channel Islands. Jennifer Love Hewitt was born in Waco, Texas, to Patricia Mae (Shipp), a speech-language pathologist, and Herbert Daniel Hewitt, a medical technician. She has English, Italian, French, Scottish, and German ancestry. She got her first name from her older brother Todd Daniel Hewitt (b. November 8, 1970), who picked the name after a little blonde girl on whom he'd had a crush. Her mother selected Jennifer's middle name, Love (which she goes by offstage), from her best college friend. Her parents separated when she was six months old and her mother raised her in Killeen, Texas.

Hewitt made her official performing debut at age 3 when she sang at a livestock show.
